Sue Hawkes was born in Snape and studied at Ipswich Art School where she obtained her National Diploma in Art and Design.

She has exhibited her work at Snape Maltings, the Aldeburgh Lighthouse and other galleries throughout East Anglia.

One of her works even hangs on the wall of Film Director, Timur Bekmanbetov’s house, in Moscow.
